In the 1920s the ceramic clock was a focal point for a house and was usually located near the fireplace.  It was proudly displayed usually on a mantel piece and was a stunning addition to any home.  In the late 1940s mantelpiece clocks declined in popularity and ceramic kitchen clocks became more popular.  Many have unique, colorful and varied designs.

If you have a themed kitchen then ceramics clocks are worth looking at as you will have a lot of choice and I like them as they have a lot of designs.  Many people love quirky styles, like the rooster and chicken designs for their kitchens but I prefer something like coffee cups or a Tuscan scene myself.

Ceramic clocks are really a piece of art with many shapes, sizes and designs.  Use them as a center piece for your kitchen.  Choose one that is hand painted or has a simple clock face with ornate hands for example.  Antique ceramic clocks are more expensive but beautiful and the modern styles are sometimes quirky or simple and elegant.

If you are redesigning your kitchen or simply doing a minor makeover then think of ceramic clocks as a simple solution in addition with a few minor changes like repainting or use of other kitchen accessories to give you a new look fairly quickly.
